Internal audit

An analysis of internal control is crucial for assessing the effectiveness of a company’s routines and processes. In every operation, there are a variety of routines that are interconnected and influence each other, such as purchasing procedures, sales procedures, pricing, and payroll administration.

Having clear routine descriptions is fundamental to ensuring smooth operations. But it’s not enough. It’s equally important to conduct controls to ensure that these routines are actually followed and function as intended.

Through careful analysis, potential deficiencies in the routines can be identified, and measures can be proposed to strengthen them. This is crucial to prevent significant errors from going undetected and to ensure efficient and reliable operations.

At Baker Tilly Stockholm, we offer a comprehensive review of your current routines, a detailed report on any deficiencies, and an action plan to strengthen and improve them. Book a non-committal meeting with our auditors today!

Auditor for a communal housing association

Having an auditor for a communal housing association is of great importance to ensure sound and transparent financial management. As an organization that manages common assets and financial resources, it is crucial to have a professional who can review the association’s financial transactions and ensure they comply with laws and regulations.

In a communal housing association, the auditor has several important roles. Firstly, the auditor conducts a review of the association’s annual financial statements to ensure they provide a true and fair view of the association’s financial position. This review is crucial for building trust among members and other stakeholders, such as banks and potential buyers.

In addition to reviewing the financial statements, the auditor can also provide valuable advice and recommendations to improve the association’s financial management and internal controls. By identifying any deficiencies or risks, the auditor can help the association reduce the risk of financial losses and mismanagement.

An auditor for a communal housing association also serves as an independent party that can act as a link between the board and the members. By providing objective feedback and reporting any deviations or deficiencies, the auditor contributes to creating transparency and trust within the association.

What can an auditor assist with?

The auditor is a key figure when it comes to reviewing and assessing a company’s accounting and management. This means that the auditor carefully examines how the board manages the company’s operations and administers its assets. During this review, the auditor assesses whether the financial information presented provides a true and fair view of the company’s results and financial position, and whether it complies with applicable laws and regulations.

Based on their observations and assessments, the auditor can also offer advice and recommendations to the organization to improve its procedures and manage financial matters more effectively. It is of utmost importance that the auditor’s role remains impartial and independent, even when providing advice, to ensure the integrity of the auditing process.

An auditor provides a range of services, including reviewing financial statements, auditing the work of the board, sustainability reporting, and other types of specialized audits according to the company’s needs.

Auditing serves as a quality stamp for external parties such as investors, suppliers, and banks, who often rely on both the company’s own reports and the auditor’s assessments. Furthermore, auditing creates internal assurance and credibility for the company by contributing to the control of risks and preventive measures.

To be an authorized auditor, one must meet strict requirements established in the Auditor’s Act. This includes requirements for education, experience, and integrity. The process of becoming authorized involves both theoretical and practical training, as well as passing an auditor’s exam with satisfactory results.

Baker Tilly Stockholm offers auditing services for companies and associations both with and without requirements for authorized auditing. Feel free to schedule a meeting with us!
